How often do you feel despised, rejected, or alone? Like God is not there or not listening? I believe this is important because now I know that Jesus himself felt that way. Even though he wasn't alone, he felt it. He understands me when I feel that way, too!
The Shepherd has taken us on quite a journey. We have lain in green pastures, drank from still water, walked righteous paths, and gone through the valley of the shadow of death. He has fed us, bound our wounds, and overfilled our cups. Now He wants to leave us with a promise to hold onto as we continue on our journey.
Do you ever read a passage of the Bible and think to yourself, "How did [insert Bible character name] do it? What is the one truth I can learn from this person?" These thoughts enter into my mind regularly. How did Abram have the faith to leave his homeland and kindred? How did Moses have the patience and love to plead with the Lord on behalf of the children of Israel when he came off Mount Sinai to find them worshipping the golden calf? How did Noah work diligently for years when he seemed to be the only one serving God?*
