In order to provide for our families, we work more hours or more jobs. We spend more time at work or looking for work knowing good and well our family needs the husband and father around more. But something occurred to me a while ago; the large company I work for doesn’t want me working more. In fact, the company doesn’t want me at all. If you spend the majority of your day working and reading/studying the Bible so you can provide for and lead your family, what are you left with when you realize you work for a company that doesn’t want you and serve a God that doesn’t need you?
Can you imagine the Bible without the lessons of Job? What a pivotal book when it comes to encouragement and understanding the sufferings and sour experiences of life! Job is our example of how to suffer, how to 'question' - even argue - with God, how to endure, and how to overcome.
